This page is for the submission of primary genotyping data (at individual level),
such as that described
by a Short Population report for Human Immunology (see here for an introduction to the required format or here for recent reports).
From 1 April 2022, Human Immunology has decided, in light of the advancements in HLA allele detection, that data submitted to AFND, with intention of writing a SPR, MUST have been tested by molecular methods and to at least two field (four digit) level. Other data can still be submitted to AFND and will be judged on merit. For example, uniqueness of the population.
If your study contains frequencies only (and no individual-level data) for HLA, please click here.

Help with using the upload tool is available here.
This tool will allow you to format and validate your data for submission to the Allele Frequencies Net Database.
The 'SampleFiles.zip' file contains template files that can be edited with Microsoft Excel, and then loaded in to the Allele Frequencies Upload Tool.
This is an executable Java (.jar) file.
You will need to have a 'Java Runtime Environment' installed on your computer.
Most computers will already have this installed, but you can download compatible versions here or here.
(With some browsers, such as Chrome, you will see a warning that the browser 'might be unable to use the Java plugin'. You can ignore this warning,
as the AFND upload tool does not use a browser plugin. Depending on your browser, you can check your current Java version automatically here, or manually
here )
